Primrose station commander heads to Katlehong station

Vesi was promoted from colonel to the rank of brigadier.

After four years and eight months of serving the community of Primrose, the local police station bade farewell to station commander Albertina Vesi.

Vesi was promoted from colonel to the rank of brigadier.

She will now be a station commander of Katlehong.

“The Primrose SAPS management and the members wish her all the best in her new post. We learned a lot from her,” said Primrose SAPS spokesperson Sgt Styles Maome.

“We will always remember her for motivating the young officers by telling them to ‘shine at the corner wherever they are’. She always encouraged officers to serve with pride and dignity.”

She has worked at both the Germiston and Elsburg police stations and was promoted to lieutenant colonel in 2005.

She was then transferred to the Springs Police Station.

She served her last day at Primrose station on August 7.

Lt Col Solomon Maswanganyi is the acting station commander.
