Primrose SAPS speak out against GBV in Makause

“GBV is a continuous problem in the area. We are experiencing several cases of assault and domestic violence," said Primrose SAPS spokesperson Sgt Styles Maome.

On Wednesday Primrose SAPS, victim empowerment volunteers and members of the crime prevention youth desk visited Makause informal settlements to raise awareness about gender-based violence (GBV).

“GBV is a continuous problem in the area. We are experiencing several cases of assault and domestic violence,” said Primrose SAPS spokesperson Sgt Styles Maome.

Stakeholders distributed pamphlets on safety tips to prevent GBV.

The acting station commander Lt Col Solomon Maswanganyi thanked his team for the work they did during the awareness campaign.

“We hope the community will take into consideration those safety tips and contact numbers in times of need. Together we will make Primrose and surrounding areas a safe place to live,” said Maswanganyi.
