Bedfordview and Germiston SPCA funds at breaking point

The Bedfordview and Germiston SPCA are currently in need of food and funding for expenses. Chairperson of the Bedfordview and Germiston SPCA Gregory Soaress said the SPCA has direly felt the impact of the Covid-19 lockdown.

“There is no chance of function fund-raising, which is still a challenge so our funds are at point break,” said Soaress.

He added a large part of the community is not getting an income which further hampered the situation.

“We have received food and blankets as well as some monetary aid from the community for which we are very grateful, but nowhere near the norms, which is understandable.”

Despite hardship, Soaress is thankful to the staff for their non-wavering commitment, as well as the community, which has continued with donations.
