Man found with drugs in Johann Rissik Road

The Germiston SAPS apprehended a 22-year-old suspect on charges of dealing in and possession of drugs.

While on patrol in Johann Rissik Road recently Germiston SAPS Task Team members, Sgt Isaac Mthethwa, Sgt Noko Mashamaite and Sgt Jacob Lebelo, spotted a 22-year-old man with a blue school bag.

Suspicious officers stopped and searched the man and his bag.

“In the bag police found dagga and nyaope, valued at approximately R5 000,” said Const Maxwell Mabunda, communications officer for the Germiston police.

The suspect was arrested on charges of dealing in and possession of drugs.

“Following the arrest members of the community told police the suspect was in the area regularly allegedly selling drugs,” said Mabunda.

He was held at the Germiston Police Station pending his appearance in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court.
