Numerous Germiston suburbs left in the dark once again

Metro technicians investigate the cause of the power outage affecting a number of Germiston suburbs.

Residents in numerous suburbs in Germiston are battling without power once again.

Ward 39 councillor Alta de Beer told the GCN that the metro’s energy department was busy conducting tests to determine the cause of the outage, but no feedback had been given on the cause of the outage or when power would be restored.

Suburbs affected are:

  • Wadeville
  • Lambton
  • Dinwiddie
  • Parkhill Gardens
  • Delville
  • Estera
  • Castleview

“Further to the power problems Germiston residents are faced with this morning, Denlee has been without water for several hours,” said de Beer.

“The cause of the water outage has also not yet been confirmed.

“The metro’s call taking centre has been unable to cope with the calls from residents, as it is reportedly operating on skeleton staff.

“Residents are, therefore, asked to log complaints via Twitter @CoE_Call_Centre or by sending an email to call.centre@ekurhuleni.gov.za or on the My Ekurhuleni App.”

Updates will follow when information is available.
