Woman nabbed for malicious damage to property

The Primrose police apprehended a suspect on a charge of malicious damage to property.

The Primrose police arrested a 30-year-old woman on a charge of malicious damage to property recently.

The arrest was made after the suspect’s ex-boyfriend opened a case against her.

“He told police that he had been at his Maroela Street home with his new girlfriend when they heard a noise coming from outside,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“When he went out to investigate, he allegedly found the suspect throwing bricks at his vehicle.

“The windows and windscreen of the vehicle were reportedly already damaged before he was able to stop the suspect and throw her out of his yard.”

After parking the vehicle in a safer location, the complainant opened a case at the Primrose Police Station.

Using the information given by the complainant police traced and arrested the suspect.

She has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court where her case was postponed for plea and trial.

“We appeal to the community to seek help when they need it and not take the law into their own hands,” said Maome.
