Katlehong SAPS take to the streets in several weekend operations

The Katlehong police shared their weekend arrest statistics.

During several weekend operations 16 suspects were arrested in the Katlehong area.

The operations, held between June 5 and 7, were carried out by officers from the Katlehong police’s Crime Prevention Unit, detectives from the Katlehong Police Station and members of the EMPD in several different areas of Katlehong,

This is according to the latest arrest statistics released by the Katlehong Police Station.

The suspects were charged with various offences.

Charges included attempted murder, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, common assault, warrant of arrest, domestic violence, malicious damage to property, dealing in drugs, driving under the influence of alcohol and Contravening the Disaster Management Act (Covid-19 Act).

All of the arrested suspects were held at the Katlehong Police Station pending their appearance in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court.

Katlehong SAPS acting station commander Col Phakama Gcaza thanked everyone who contributed to the arrests.
