Ekurhuleni set to reopen licensing services

The public will be informed when licensing centres will be reopening.

The City of Ekurhuleni is preparing to open its licensing centres as provided for in the Level 3 regulations for the Covid-19 lockdown.

Measures for hygiene, disinfection control, social distancing and sanitising are being put in place.

The public will be notified of the exact date for resumption of licensing services in Ekurhuleni.

Validity period of licences:

Government Gazette No.43339 dated May 20, 2020:
• All learner’s licences, driving licences, temporary driver’s licences, motor vehicle licence discs, temporary permits, roadworthy certificates and professional driving permits that expired during the period that commenced from March 26, 2020 up to and including May 31, 2020 are deemed to be valid and their validity period is further extended by 90 days from June 1, 2020.

• Motor trade number licences that expire during the period that commenced from March 26, 2020 up to and including May 31, 2020 are deemed to be valid and are extended for a further grace period of six months from the date of publication of these directions.
