Police appeal to community for information following armed robbery

Katlehong police are on the hunt for four men who allegedly robbed a local store in Moleleki Extension One.

The Katlehong police are investigating a case of armed robbery.

“It is alleged that on Thursday at around noon four suspects armed with firearms entered at local store in Moleleki Extension One,” said Const Sivenkosi Mtwa, communications officer for the Katlehong police.

“According to an eyewitness, one of the suspects pointed his firearm at her and instructed her to comply with his instructions.”

It is reported the suspects forced the staff to open their tills and made off with an undisclosed amount of money.

“The suspects fled the scene, driving off in different vehicles but going in the same direction,” said Mtwa.

“No shots were fired.”

Only two of the suspects’ vehicles were identified, both were Toyota Corolla sedans.

“One of the identified vehicles was white and the other powder blue,” said Mtwa.

“The other two vehicles were not identified as they were parked far away from the scene.”

Police are appealing to anyone who might have information to come forward or to report it to Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
