Metro mitigates Covid-19 risks at the workplace by screening employees

To enhance safety in the workplace metro employees were recently screened for Covid-19.

Over 2 000 City of Ekurhuleni employees were recently screened for Covid-19 in line with the Level 4 lockdown regulations that require screening of all employees returning to their workplaces.

The screening also contributed to the need to do more tests to detect any cases of Covid-19.

The metro conducted mass screening for essential workers, workers who are working remotely and employees who are currently on lockdown in accordance with government’s guidelines on the management of Covid-19.

The screening, over three days, took place at the Germiston, Boksburg, Kempton Park and Springs civic centres.

The mass screening of employees included a questionnaire and temperature screening.

Constant screening will continue at different work stations in the coming weeks.
