Rand Water to restore water supply to affected Germiston areas

A Rand Water technical team is working on the problem.

The J10 pipeline, which runs along Main Reef Road from Germiston to Boksburg, was damaged in the early hours of this morning.

This prompted Rand Water to shut down the water supply to allow for the commencement of emergency repair work.

A Rand Water technical team was immediately dispatched to the area to start with the inspection and repair work.

A number of areas in the vicinity have been affected.

The estimated completion time of the repair work has not been determined.

Rand Water apologises for any inconvenience that may have been caused by the damage to the pipeline.

Rand Water appeals to communities in the Germiston areas to use water sparingly to prevent the depletion of the system due to the burst pipeline.
