Covid-19: Food drive started to help the needy in the community

A food drive has been launched to help people in Albemarle, Dinwiddie, Castleview and Union.

As the 21-day lockdown continues for some people the thought of their next meal is filled with worry.

This is where Biancha Radyn-Schoeman, Jean Ingram (Ward 37 community safety officer) and Du Toit Lamprechts from SOG Security come in.

They have started a food drive for the less fortunate in the Albemarle, Dinwiddie, Castleview and Union areas of Germiston.

“We are calling on all the people of our community to donate any extra non-perishable food items no matter how small so that we can donate to families in need.

“All items that are collected are safely sanitised and distributed evenly among the families that we are aware of,” said Biancha.

If you would like to donate or know of a family in need contact Biancha on 074 195 6969 or Jean on 065 808 8151.
