“Our residents are of course allowed to go to hospital and doctor’s appointments,” said home manager Martie Otten.

Strict safety measures have been implemented at Die Anker’s entrance.

“We are very strict about our entrance procedures for all staff, who are contracted through Carelife Wellness and Retirement, and anyone who makes an essential delivery to the home,” explained Otten.

“Before entering, the staff or delivery person will have their hands sprayed with a sanitiser.

“They will then have their hands sprayed once again.”

Residents’ hygiene has also been stepped up.

“At breakfast, lunch and dinner the residents’ hands are sprayed before they enter the dining room,” said Otten.

“Furthermore, all residents have been supplied with sanitiser spray bottles which we keep filled for them.

“We have also supplied them with extra soap and encourage them to wash their hands as often as possible.”
