LamDel RA Easter Bunny Hop Market and Family Day cancelled

LamDel Residents Association’s (RA) Easter Bunny Hop Market and Family Day scheduled for April 4 has been cancelled.

This fun-filled family-friendly event was meant to be held at Laerskool Delville, located in Third Avenue, Lambton, however, due to the Covid-19 outbreak the group has made the decision to cancel the event.

“As we watched the President’s address to the nation, he made a few things clear,” said Lornette Joseph, LamDel RA chairperson.

“There are to be no gatherings of more than 100 people, for gatherings of less than 100 people organisers must take additional heath precautions and the school will only open after the Easter Holiday.

“Just these three points have put a large dent in our plans for the Easter Bunny Hop Market and Family Day.”

Lornette noted that with the vendors, artists, LamDel RA organising team and school staff the event would already have over 100 people in attendance, and this was without the members of the public, most of whom would be children.

“Your safety is, and always will be, first and foremost a top priority to our team and therefore we will be cancelling the event,” said Lornette.

“We still hope to host our Heritage Day braai, as well as our Christmas Under The Stars event.

“Again we apologise for this, but it is completely out of our control.”
