Get ready for a hopping good time

Residents encouraged to hop down to LamDel Residents Association’s (RA) Easter Bunny Hop Market and Family Day.

Hop on down to LamDel Residents Association’s (RA) Easter Bunny Hop Market and Family Day on April 4 for a day of fun.

This fun-filled family-friendly event will be held at Laerskool Delville, located in Third Avenue, Lambton.

The festivities will kick off at 10am and run into the afternoon, ending at about 4pm.

The event aims to bring the community together to not only have some fun in the sun before winter arrives, but also to show support to local vendors.

“To our knowledge, our area has never had anything like this taking place,” said Lornette Joseph, LamDel RA chairperson.

“We really hope that everyone will join in the fun and embrace the event so that it will become an annual event.”

There promises to be something for everyone at the Easter Bunny Hop.

“We have a host of various singers who will be performing throughout the day, as well as vendors, a raffle and lots of fun activities for the children,” said Jakkie Janse van Vuuren, LamDel RA vice-chairperson.

“We have decided to make this event all about the children,” added Lornette.

“We will be hosting an Easter Bunny dress-up competition with categories like funny bunny and cute bunny and maybe another surprise category.

“There will also be a little Mr and Miss LamDel RA for children younger than six years old and a Mr and Miss LamDel for children six to 13 years old.”

Entries for the event will open on the day and will be available at the LamDel RA table, at a cost of R10 per child.

“Our Mr and Miss LamDel and dress-up competition will start at noon,” said Lornette.

From 1pm children will have the chance to test their skills in a fun-filled obstacle course, just one of the fun activities planned for the day.

“The obstacle courses and activities will be age appropriate,” said Jakkie.

“A full schedule of all the events will be available on our LamDel RA website and Facebook pages from March 14.”

Guests are encouraged to enter the day’s raffles by visiting the LamDel RA table at the event.

“We will have some items available as a raffle,” explained Lornette.

“This will be used to raise some money to fund our Christmas event taking place on December 5.”

There is still lots of available space for vendors and interested parties are urged to send an email to events@lamdel.org.za or a WhatsApp to 071 230 8029 for more information.

“We have kept the cost for our vendors low to encourage more people to have stalls,” said Jakkie.

“LamDel RA is very excited about hosting this event, and we are so pleased that Laerskool Delville has come on board to help us.

“We can’t wait to have loads of fun,” said Lornette.
