Community leap at the opportunity to enjoy Rest-a-While’s community market

Community members snapped up some bargains at Rest-a-While Service Centre for the Elderly’s Leap Year Market last Saturday.

Rest-a-While Service Centre for the Elderly celebrated Leap Year Day last Saturday with a fun-filled community market.

Despite the rain the market was well attended and residents were able to enjoy a variety of stalls.

Rest-a-While manager Trudy Carreira was pleased with how the event, which managed to raise R1 734 for the centre, turned out.

Trudy is appealing to the elderly of the community to come and join the centre as a member.

The centre hosts several fun activities each week, including, skills development mornings, bingo and line dancing.

In addition, the centre hosts special celebrations for days such as Valentine’s Day, Mother’s and Father’s Day, as well as, Easter and Christmas.
