Man found with several stolen items

Primrose police apprehended a 22-year-old man on a charge of possession of suspected stolen property.

While on patrol in Pretoria Road, close to the Makause informal settlement, last Friday, officers from the Primrose police station noticed a man acting suspiciously.

“They followed the man who was carrying what appeared to be two school bags,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“When they reached his shack, the officers introduced themselves and asked to search him and his shack.”

During the search, police found the two bags which contained a camera, a mouse, an 8GB iPad, a camera charger, a pair of school shoes, several bracelets and a cellphone.

“When asked for the proof of purchase for any of the items, the 22-year-old suspect was unable to provide one,” said Maome.

“He was arrested on a charge of possession of suspected stolen property.”

He was held at the Primrose police station pending his appearance in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court.
