A man was also arrested on a charge of murder and rape when police discovered a woman’s naked body hidden in some grass.

Police confirmed that she had been raped before being murdered.

“She had several stab wounds and strangulation marks around her neck,” said Const Sivenkosi Mtwa, communications officer for the Katlehong police.

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.

Katlehong SAPS acting station commander Col Phakama Gcaza urged the community to stand together and protect women within the precinct.
