Primrose police have recorded a high number of domestic violence cases within the informal settlements of Primrose.

“We believe the number of domestic violence cases can be linked to the abuse of alcohol,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“To address this issue, we, as police, continue to conduct operations that aim to close illegal taverns within the informal settlements.

“We also strive to educate our communities about the dangers of alcohol abuse and how to deal with and report domestic violence.”

“We thank all the stakeholders who helped us to make this awareness campaign a success,” said Maome.

“We hope the members of community will take to heart what they learnt during the campaign.”
