Woman arrested in connection with Buhle Park business robbery

Elsburg police apprehended a woman on a charge of business robbery.

The Elsburg police recently arrested a woman on a charge of business robbery.

The woman was arrested in Buhle Park after being handed over to police by members of the community.

“The incident was first reported to police by the business owner whose store was allegedly robbed,” explained Const Daphney Phooko, communications officer for the Elsburg police.

“The victim alleged he was held up by several men with firearms.

“The men made off with cigarettes and airtime in a white Ford Figo, heading towards Buhle Park.”

On the same day some community members saw the vehicle driving towards an open field.

“The community members allegedly witnessed a female suspect and three male suspects in the vehicle.

“They were able to corner the woman when she attempted to flee from the vehicle,” said Phooko.

“We thank the community for not taking the law into their own hands and for handing over the perpetrator to the police.”

The three remaining suspects escaped.

Police are searching for the remaining suspects.
