Dinwiddie High part of Germiston SAPS ‘Adopt a Cop’ initiative

Germiston police visited Dinwiddie High School to teach the learners more about crime.

The Germiston police kicked off their back-to-school-campaign, last Wednesday with a visit to Dinwiddie High School.

During the visit the learners were told more about the station’s ‘Adopt a Cop’ initiative and the importance of such projects in schools and communities.

Lt Col Peter Baloyi was assigned as Dinwiddie High’s designated policeman.

He introduced himself to the children and spoke to the learners about personal safety and bullying.

He urged them to be aware of their surroundings at all times.

“Baloyi asked the learners to walk in groups when coming to and leaving school, especially if they do not have transport,” Const Maxwell Mabunda, communications officer for the Germiston SAPS said.

The principal and school’s management team thanked the police for their visit and their commitment to their school.
