Police officers have been addressing learners on the violence and crime among South Africa’s youth.

Learners received safety tips from SAPS members and Social Crime Prevention officials, which includes information on the social situation in South Africa, tips on how to behave in various social situations and the legal obligations citizens face in South Africa.

Learners were also advised not to bottle up any challenges and problems they may be faced with, but to rather confide in a trusted adult or friend.

Acting station commander Col Phakama Gcaza from the Katlehong Police Station encouraged the headmasters of the schools not to hesitate to contact her when they are faced with challenges such as crime and violence on their school premises.

The SAPS #AdoptACop aims towards ensuring safety in Gauteng schools.
