Man nabbed for alleged sexual assault

The Primrose police apprehended a 40-year-old man on a charge of sexual assault.

Primrose police recently arrested a 40-year-old man on a charge of sexual assault.

The alleged incident took place in Beaconsfield Avenue and was reported to police by the victim of the alleged attack.

“The young victim told police that he was playing with friends when they were approached by the suspect,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“The suspect reportedly started playing with the children and then allegedly asked the victim to come with him to his room to help him with something.

“The complainant followed him to his room.

“When he arrived the suspect allegedly told him to sit on the bed and started touching his private parts.

“The child reportedly told him to stop and that he wanted to go outside, but the suspect allegedly would not open the door.”

The victim was able to escape through a window and reported the incident to the Primrose police.

Officers traced and arrested the suspect, using the description given by the victim.

He has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, where his case was postponed for plea and trial.
