Alleged dagga dealer masquerading as a snack vendor caught by EMPD

Alleged dagga dealer pretends to sell snacks to ply his trade.

Acting on a tip-off from concerned members of the community, EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit members raided an illegally erected structure displaying sweets and popcorn in the Katlehong area, on Sunday.

The 26-year-old man, who was masquerading as a snack vendor, was operating in Venus Road in Kumalo section.

“The officers body searched the man and discovered 50 ziplock bags of dagga valued at R2 000 and R400 in cash.

“He was arrested and was taken to the Katlehong Police Station,” said Kobeli Mokheseng, spokesperson for the EMPD.

Charges of possession and dealing in dagga were registered against the arrested suspect and he is expected to appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon.
