Elsburg SAPS arrest man for dagga possession

The Elsburg police apprehended a 27-year-old man on a charge of dagga possession.

While on a routine patrol in Rondebult, last Sunday, officers from the Elsburg Police Station’s Crime Combating Unit noticed three men sitting on the pavement outside a local store in Roodekop Road.

“As police approached the men they allegedly witnessed them consuming alcohol and smoking,” explained Const Daphney Phooko, communications officer for the Elsburg police.

“The officers further reported that one of the men was rolling dagga in rizzla.”

All of the men were searched and more dagga was found in the possession of the 27-year-old man who was allegedly seen rolling the dagga earlier.

He was arrested on a charge of possession of dagga and taken to the Elsburg Police Station.

The suspect will appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon.
