Dawnview High matrics celebrate their results

Dawnview High School recorded an 89 per cent pass rate for the 2019 NSC examinations.

Dawnview High School staff and learners celebrated the school’s 89 per cent pass rate on Wednesday.

The results of the 2019 National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations were the cause of much delight for a number of the school’s learners as they were pleased they had passed the year and were looking forward to the future.

Principal of the school Moeketsie Kolokoto said, “I am happy about the quality of the results.

“We had a tough group but we managed to produce results and we hope to improve in 2020.”

From the 103 matric leaners who sat for the NSC examinations 44 achieved bachelor’s passes and 44 learners achieved diploma passes.

Overall the school achieved 26 distinctions.

The top three learners were:

• Thokozane Nhlanhla with a 78 per cent average and three distinctions in mathematics literacy, life orientation and history.

• Ayabonga Zimemo with a 77.1 per cent average and four distinctions in Afrikaans, life orientation, accounting and business studies.

• Jemuel Kanniah with a 72.2 per cent average and three distinctions in life orientation, accounting and history.

The school is looking forward to the new academic year.
