Eighteen suspects netted by Elsburg SAPS

The Elsburg SAPS releases their latest crime statistics.

The Elsburg SAPS, with the Elsburg CPF, worked hand in hand from December 13 to 16 to rid their area of crime and to keep residents safe.

During the time period, 18 suspects were arrested for various offences.

The arrests were made for the following crimes:

• Assault common: 2

• Theft general: 2

• Driving under the influence of alcohol: 12

• Murder: 1

• Hijacking: 1

Station commander for the Elsburg SAPS Col Linah Thethe applauded her members’ efforts and encouraged them to keep up the good work.

“Col Thethe added that as we are already in the festive season, they must keep on securing and keeping safe the residents of and visitors to our area,” said Const Daphney Phooko, communications officer for the Elsburg SAPS.

“She also said that the police must treat all people fairly and equally as they perform their duties.”
