The rainy day did not stop the children from Hlabologang and Happy Cave Early Development Centre smiling and singing as they enjoyed their annual year-end event.
They celebrated the end of the school year at the centre in Minnie Street, Dukathole, last Saturday.
The school was founded in 2017 by Nthabiseng Doreen Olyn.

Olyn is a qualified social auxiliary worker, but due to the unemployment rate, decided to open up her own day-care centre.
“To eradicate poverty in this disadvantaged area, I decided to assist the community by opening up the day care with my social auxiliary experience,” said Olyn.
The day-care centre works with children from infancy to Grade Seven, as well as children with disabilities
The annual school fees keep the centre running.
“I applied for a financial grant two years in a row, but I was not successful,” said Olyn
“I have not given up hope because in the community the children are not safe in the streets, so they need care and education.
“I strive with whatever I get every day and I do it from the bottom of my heart.”
The children enjoyed the rest of their afternoon as they enjoyed a meal and proudly sang the National Anthem.
