During routine crime prevention patrols in Katlehong last Saturday, members of the EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) caught three men with narcotics.
The men were allegedly found with rock, nyaope and Mandrax tablets.
The patrols took place between 10am and 2pm.

The DEU members stopped a 38-year-old man at 10.15am in Phenduka Street in Siluma View and searched him.
They discovered 19 pieces of rock and 29 green plastic wrappers containing nyaope valued at R4 500 on the streets, as well as R1 410 in cash in his possession.

Then, at 1pm in Moleleki section, two suspects, aged 23 and 29 years old respectively, were apprehended after 204 ziplock bags, one blue plastic bag, 10 black plastic bags and two newspaper wrapped packets of dagga, as well as 38 full and 4 half Mandrax tablets were found in their possession.
The drugs were valued at R13 000 on the streets and the men also had R549 cash in their possession.
All three were taken to the Katlehong Police Station and charged with possession of and dealing in illicit substances.
They were expected to appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon.
