Woman’s shack reportedly broken into in Makause

Primrose police apprehend man on charge of house break-in and theft.

The Primrose police recently arrested a 31-year-old man on a charge of house break-in and theft.

The man was arrested after the homeowner reported the incident to police.

“The complainant alleged she left her Makause informal settlement shack at 7am, as normal, making sure it was locked,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“When she returned at around 10am, the same morning, she allegedly saw the suspect, who is known to her, running away from her shack.

“When she inspected her shack, she realised the door had been forced open and an number of items taken.”

Using the description given by the complainant, police were able to trace and arrest the suspect.

He was detained at the Primrose Police Station, pending his appearance in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court.
