Paramedics respond to late night multi-vehicle collision

Two trapped in wreckage following multi-vehicle collision on N12 highway.

Netcare 911 paramedics responded to a multi-vehicle collision at the intersection of the N12 highway and Edenvale Road, in Meadowbrook, at approximately 10.20pm last Saturday night.

“Reports from the scene indicate that five vehicles were involved in the collision,” explained media liaison officer for Netcare 911, Shawn Herbst.

“As a result of the collision two people were trapped inside their vehicles.

“Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS) personnel used hydraulic tools to free the patients from the wreckage.”

Once treated and stabilised, all of the patients were transported by various ambulance services to hospital for further treatment.

“Circumstances leading up to the accident will be investigated by the relevant authorities,” said Herbst.
