Woman arrested in connection with her baby’s death

The Primrose police apprehended a 32-year-old woman on a charge of murder.

Primrose police were called to a local clinic, last Sunday.

“Officers were told on their arrival about the death of a two-month-old baby,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“The paramedics told police that the baby had no visible injuries but white fluid could be seen coming out of his nose.

“An investigation to find the cause of the baby’s death began.”

During the police’s investigation it was reported that the baby’s 32-year-old mother had been involved in a fight at a local tavern.

“It is alleged that the baby was thrown to the floor when the mother, who was allegedly drunk, began a fight with another woman,” said Maome.

The woman was arrested on a charge of child neglect and murder.

“We appeal to our community to refrain from taking their children to taverns with them,” said Maome.

“Tavern owners must also not allow small children on their premises and we will conduct operations to prevent similar crimes.”
