Fourteen suspects were nabbed in a stop-and-search operation, last Monday.
The operation was carried out by officers from the Katlehong police’s Crime Prevention Unit, with the help of detectives from the Katlehong Police Station and members of the EMPD.

The accused were charged with several different offences.
The charges included assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, common assault, domestic violence, intimidation, child neglect, contravening a court order, possession of suspected stolen property, possession of drugs and driving under the influence of alcohol.
All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.

Katlehong station commander Brig Sammy Thambo appealed to the community to help police bring perpetrators to book, so that they can be prosecuted.
