Man allegedly attacks wife in Zenith Street

Primrose police arrested a man on a charge of domestic violence.

A 46-year-old man was arrested by the Primrose police, last Sunday, on a charge of domestic violence.

The arrest was made in Zenith Street, in Solheim, after police were called to the scene.

“The complainant alleged that her husband arrived home at about 9pm and allegedly began screaming at her for not answering her phone when he tried to call her,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“He allegedly punched her six times.

“The complainant reportedly begged her daughter to help her.”

Police responded quickly to the call and arrested the suspect.

“As police we condemn any form of violence, especially gender-based violence,” said Maome.

“We are appealing to our community to report any form of violence they are exposed to so that the perpetrators can be dealt with accordingly.”

The suspect appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court where his case was postponed for trial.
