A hawk-eyed member of the community smelled a rat when he noticed more than 10 suspicious-looking men and women frequenting a shack on a daily basis in Palm Ridge Extension Five.
The community member alerted the EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU).
DEU officers responded swiftly to the tip-off and visited the shack at 1.30pm last Saturday.
When they arrived they found two male occupants, aged 19 and 25 years old respectively, at the shack.
Officers arrested the two after they discovered four gold nuggets weighing 9.42 grams and five paper-wrapped packets of dagga, allegedly in the men’s possession, all valued at R3 550.

The men were taken to the Eden Park Police Station and charged with possession of dagga and illegal possession of gold nuggets.
They are expected to appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon.
SAPS detectives are investigating the origin of the well-polished gold nuggets.
