Man allegedly steals watches from Sunnyridge home

Primrose police apprehended a man on a charge of theft.

A 26-year-old man was recently arrested by the Primrose police on a charge of theft.

It is alleged that the suspect stole watches from a Sunnyridge home where he was doing plumbing work.

“The complaint alleged that the accused was left alone in the house while he and his father were out,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“When he went into his bedroom, after returning home, he discovered his bedside drawer was slightly open and there were water marks on the handle.

“When he opened the drawer he discovered his watches were missing.”

The homeowner called the suspect who allegedly apologised for taking the watches and promised to bring them back. When he did not, the complainant opened a case at the Primrose Police Station.

“The accused was traced and arrested,” said Maome.

The man will appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon.
