Local pawn shop alerts police to attempted sale of stolen goods

Primrose police apprehended three suspects on a charge of possession of stolen property in Primrose.

Primrose police were called to a local pawn shop last Wednesday after three men, aged between 24 and 31, attempted to sell alleged stolen goods.

“The men attempted to sell a hard drive, keyboard and several other items,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“When the manager of the shop checked the items they corresponded with the items looted from a shop in Railway Street in the Germiston CBD.

“The manager asked the men for proof of ownership for the items, which they were unable to provide.”

The police were called and the men arrested.

The suspects will appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon.
