Busy weekend for Katlehong SAPS

Katlehong police share their weekend successes.

Fourteen suspects were arrested by the Katlehong police during several weekend operations.

The operations were carried out between October 11 and 13 by officers from the Katlehong SAPS Crime Prevention Unit, detectives from the Katlehong Police Station and members of the EMPD.

The accused were charged with various offences.

Charges included:

• Assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm: 2

• Dealing in drugs: 2

• Warrant of arrest: 3

• Common assault: 1

• Child neglect: 1

• Intimidation: 1

• Driving under the influence of alcohol: 4.

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for a number of different reasons.

Katlehong SAPS acting station commander Brig Sammy Thambo was pleased with the arrests made over the weekend.

He warned the community to be extra vigilant when visiting local shopping centres as the festive season approaches.
