The South African Weather Services (SAWS) reportedly anticipated a severe thunderstorm, accompanied by possible large hail and strong gusty winds, in some areas of Gauteng, including Ekurhuleni on Thursday afternoon.

EMPD officers pounce on alleged drug dealers in Katlehong

Patrols by EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) members recently in the south of Katlehong yielded results. Two alleged drug dealers were nabbed in possession of Kat worth R1 200 on the streets. Both arrests took place at about 9.30am.

In their continued efforts to curb crime in their precinct, officers from the Katlehong SAPS Crime Prevention Unit conducted several stop-and-search operations between September 26 and 27.

Why is the sea salty?

Most of Earth’s surface is covered in water and that water contains salt. Where does all this salt come from? Some of it comes from rocks on land and some from underwater volcanoes and hydrothermal vents on the seabed, but most of it comes from the land.
