Eight suspects arrested in stop-and-search operation

Katlehong SAPS share their successes.

Eight suspects were nabbed during a stop-and-search operation, last Monday.

The operation, which was carried out by officers from the Katlehong Police Station’s Crime Prevention Unit, with the assistance of detectives from the Katlehong Police Station, aimed to curb crime in the area.

The accused were charged with several different offences.

Charges included malicious damage to property, dealing in drugs, driving under the influence of alcohol, common assault and assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.

Katlehong SAPS station commander Brig Sammy Thambo was pleased with the arrests made and urged the community to put their safety first as we approach the festive season.
