Veld fire and power failure leaves several Germiston suburbs dry

Several Germiston suburbs were left without water on Thursday morning. This came weeks after a week-long outage, which left many Germiston residents angry and frustrated as they waited in line to fill water containers. The water outage was a result of a power outage at Rand Water’s Zuikerbosch and Vereeniging treatment plants and Lethabo Pumping Stations.

More Germiston suburbs plunged into darkness

Several Germiston suburbs were plunged into darkness last Monday. Officials worked slowly to restore power to the affected area, and in doing so hoped to establish the cause of the trip.

Man found with dagga in Junction Road

While on patrol in Junction Road, Driehoek, last Thursday, Germiston SAPS Task Team members noticed a man acting suspiciously. They stopped the 22-year-old man and searched him.

Officers from the Katlehong SAPS Crime Prevention Unit continued their crime prevention efforts with a stop-and-search operation last Thursday.

Three arrested after shoot-out with police

While on patrol in Rietfontein Road in Primrose recently, officers from the Primrose Police Station received an alert about a white Volkswagen Jetta. The vehicle had reportedly been used in an armed robbery at an ATM in Primrose.
