SAPS tackle crime in Elsburg

Elsburg police share their latest crime statistics.

The Elsburg police had a busy weekend arresting 37 suspects.

The arrests were made during several operations held between September 13 and 15.

The accused were arrested for various charges.

Charges include possession of an unlicensed firearm, theft, possession of drugs, murder, malicious damage to property, house robbery, driving under the influence of alcohol and possession of suspected stolen property.

“The Elsburg police, together with the EMPD and local CPF members, work tirelessly to prevent crime and uphold the law in our policing precinct,” said Const Daphney Phooko, communications officer for the Elsburg police.

Elsburg SAPS station commander Col Linah Thethe thanked the officers for their efforts and urged them to continue their hard work.

Elsburg Sector One CPF chairperson Johan Lorence thanked the police for the quick reaction time to reported incidents over the weekend.
