Motorcyclist taken to hospital with head injuries following CBD collision

Disaster and Emergency Management Services rush to Germiston CBD, following collision.

Personnel from the Germiston Central Fire Station were called to the scene of a collision between a Toyota SUV and motorcycle last Tuesday afternoon.

“Upon arrival at the corner of Driehoek Road and President Street, personnel found a Toyota SUV with two occupants and a motorcycle had been involved in a collision,” explained William Ntladi, district manager media liaison for Disaster and Emergency Management Services.

“The motorcycle’s rider was assessed on scene, where it was discovered the patient had sustained serious head injuries.

“He was given medical attention on scene before being transported to Bertha Gxowa Hospital by ambulance for further treatment.”

The SUV’s occupants were unharmed in the collision.

The cause of the crash is being investigated by the EMPD.
