Elsburg police net suspects for theft of copper

The Elsburg SAPS apprehended two suspects on a charge of theft of copper.

Two men, aged 36 and 56 years old respectively, were recently arrested by the Elsburg police on a charge of theft of copper.

“The copper was allegedly stolen from Osborn Road in Wadeville,” said Const Daphney Phooko, communications officer for the Elsburg police.

“A case of theft was opened after an officer on patrol in the area noticed the missing copper cables.”

After a brief investigation police were able to trace and arrest the two suspects.

They were held at the Elsburg Police Station pending their appearance in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court.
