Germiston residents are today, September 12, currently being affected by a widespread power outage in the city.

Clr Wendy Morgan, the ward councillor for Ward 36 told the GCN that the energy department said the power failure is affecting many parts of the city and restoration time is estimated in about three hours time.

Many residents of Elspark, however, have not had power since yesterday and Morgan said she had received no feedback on their power woes.

The GCN has requested comment from the metro regarding the power issues.
