Officers from the Katlehong SAPS Crime Prevention Unit and detectives from the Katlehong Police Station arrested 10 suspects in a stop-and-search operation, last Monday.

The operation formed part of the police’s ongoing efforts to curb crime in the area.
The accused were charged with various offences.
Charges included:
• Rape: 2
• Assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm: 2
• Common robbery: 2
• Common assault: 1
• Arson: 1
• Driving under the influence of alcohol: 2

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
Katlehong SAPS Station Commander Brig Sammy Thambo urged the community to help in the fight against crime in the precinct.
