The Katlehong North SAPS has been on high alert since violence flared up in the area last Sunday.

To date, 64 suspects have been arrested on charges of public violence.
Many foreign nationals in the Mandela informal settlement were forced to flee their homes and businesses as a result of the violence.
The displaced residents have been housed at a number of community halls in the Katlehong North area, which are being monitored by police.

Donations have poured in for those in need.
The arrested suspects will appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon.
