Teddy Bears Picnic enjoyed by all

Vroue Landbou-Unie’s (VLU) Dinwiddie branch enjoys a fun-filled morning.

The Vroue Landbou-Unie’s (VLU) Dinwiddie branch held a very special event at the NG Kerk Verwoerdpark, recently.

The event was not only the group’s monthly meeting but a fun-filled Teddy Bears Picnic, as well.

The day included lucky draws, cake sales, delicious eats, and an art and jewellery exhibit.

Guests were entertained by the musical talents of Steyn Kleynhans.

“All the tables were decorated to a Teddy Bears Picnic theme with teddy bears and other soft toys decorating the hall,” said Priscilla Atkins, liaison officer for the VLU Dinwiddie branch.

“Prizes went to the three best decorated tables.”

Gillian Lantz placed third, Ria van Rensburg placed second, and Corrie Raubenheimer took top honours.

“We also collected pet food and blankets,” said Priscilla.

“Cathy Valente-Parkinson from Recycle 4 Rescue attended the event to tell the clubs’ members more about the organisation.

“The donations were handed to Cathy after her presentation.”
