Arbor Week fun with Hirsch’s Meadowdale

Hirsch’s Meadowdale celebrated Arbor Week with a local crèche.

Arbor Week is celebrated in South Africa in the first week of spring, with communities planting trees and other plants in appreciation of the environment and to create awareness of the importance of trees.

Hirsch’s Meadowdale partnered with Marvelus Crèche to increase public awareness of the importance of planting trees, by recently donating a citrus tree to the crèche.

Hirsch’s Meadowdale enjoyed a wonderful time with the children from Marvelus Crèche in celebration of Arbor Week.

Learners participated in the process by helping to dig and cover the hole and water the tree.

“We had so much fun partnering with this wonderful crèche and we will return to see how their tree is coming along and see if they need help with anything else,” said Hirsch’s Meadowdale’s public relations officer, Chantelle du Plessis.
