‘Goodbye Alicat, you will be missed’

Germiston SPCA bids a sad farewell to volunteer.

The Germiston SPCA has paid tribute to one of its volunteers who recently passed away.

The tribute reads:

“It is with great sadness that we bid farewell to Alison Hemmant (Alicat as she was known to all) who recently passed away.

“Alicat will forever be remembered for her incredible passion to help our animals.

“She served for over five amazing years as a volunteer for the Germiston and Bedfordview SPCA Charity Ladies.

“She leaves behind her son Peter, who has been by her side since she fell ill, and her beloved cat, Tiger, whom she adopted from us.

“We, Greg Soares (chairperson), the committee and staff send our deepest condolences to Peter and the rest of Alison’s family.

“We thank our SPCA Charity Ladies for the loyalty and support they have shown through this difficult time.

“Life is precious and needs to be valued, as well as relationships.

“Alicat, we will miss you, but we know that you are united with your husband, who you so dearly missed.”
